About Our Founder

Our founder’s love for animals began long before Buy Quail was ever an idea. Growing up in Riverside County, she spent her childhood exploring the hills and dry creek beds of San Timoteo Canyon with her older brother — searching for snakes, lizards, and other desert wildlife. She was an active member of her school’s herpetology club, where her fascination with reptiles grew into a lifelong respect for their care and wellbeing.

As an adult, that same curiosity evolved into a deep awareness of where our animals come from. Unhappy with the conditions of large-scale factory farming, she decided to start raising her own animals — humanely, naturally, and with purpose. That journey led her to discover quail: small, hardy, and remarkably efficient birds that thrive in clean, well-managed environments.

What began as a personal project soon became a mission. Combining her love for reptiles with her passion for ethical animal husbandry, she founded Buy Quail to bridge the gap between sustainable farming and responsible reptile feeding.

Today, Buy Quail provides clean, healthy, locally raised Coturnix quail for reptile owners, pet stores, and small farms across Southern California. Every bird is raised with care — ensuring not just a better feeder, but a better standard for animal welfare and nutrition.
